BUR OAK CLUB TRIAL JUNE 27, 2009

Bur Oak hosted a very successful Club Trial at Gridley Field on June 27, 2009 with SV Judge Juergen Hess. 

Due to the heat and high temperatures, the club had to cancel the AD, but we had two SchH1 entries, one SchH3 entry, four BH entries, one FH entry, and one TR1 entry.

We would like to congratulate all of the participants on their achievements of the weekend, but particularly the following club members and their dogs:

TAWNY WAGNER and her dog ROCCO ("Rocco Vom Haus Kuhn") who earned another successful TR1 title!

JOE BARRY (handler Petra Raffel) and his dog HANA ("Shooting Star Hana") who earned their BH title!

KATHLEEN SANDERSON and her dog CARTER ("Sentras Learned Hand") who earned their SchH1 title!

Objectives of the Club: To encourage and promote training of purebred German Shepherd Dogs and other desirable breeds, such as Rottweilers, Dobermans and Belgian Malinois. Further objectives include doing everything possible to bring the natural qualities of said breeds to perfection in the service of our community and mankind.

About Us: The club was formed January 12, 2003 and is not-for-profit.  Diverse founding members include several breeding kennels, and expert through novice proponents of all three phases of Schutzhund training and competition (tracking, obedience and protection work).

Other key interests of the club involve conformation and ring training.

All members are part of the GSDCA-WDA and the club is WDA affiliated. 

Training Update:

Tracking will begin at 8:00 am at the field each Sunday for all of the newbies! Obedience will begin simultaneously, at 8:00 am.  

From 10:00-10:30 am each Sunday we will have a "Sits and Downs" training session where we work on various distractions while maintaining group sits and downs.

****NEWS FLASH****

CONGRAULATIONS to Margo and Ilsa, who earned their RA title at the Car-Dun-Al Obedience and Rally Trial on April 19, 2009.  Ilsa earned amazing scores on her way to this title - 100, 99 and 98 pts!

CONGRATULATIONS to Kathleen and her two dogs, Carter and Maika, both of whom made the American Rottweiler Club 2008 Top Ten Agility Rottweilers list!

CONGRATULATIONS to Mike Karlov, who officially became a judge for Service Dogs of America (SDA) on February 26, 2009!

CONGRATULATIONS to Kathleen and Maika, who took 1st place in her weight division (61-80 lbs) at the Green Valley Dog Drivers, Four Lakes Weight Pull on February 8, 2009.  Maika successfully pulled 520 lbs on snow. Not bad for her third time out!

CONGRATULATIONS to Kathleen and Carter, who took 4th place in his weight division (100-124 lbs) at the Green Valley Dog Drivers, Four Lakes Weight Pull on February 8, 2009.  Carter successfully pulled 345 lbs on snow. YES, he got his butt kicked by his little sister. But had a good time doing it regardless!
